Cattery is proud to
announce the birth of Chanson's kittens on January 20th, 2007
GC Wenlock Chanson of Minkitty, a champagne mink, delivered a litter on January 20th, 2007. Mom didn't have quite enough milk so I supplemented by bottle feeding them. The result is that this litter is extremely affectionate. The minute I pick up one of the kittens they start purring.
The Champagne Mink kitten was born very dark. For the longest time I thought he was a Champagne Solid. As time went on, he got lighter and I'm now convinced that he is a Mink. This is proof, that all tonks do not necessarily darken with age. Although this is generally true, each line of cats develops at a different rate and sometimes they do lighten especially while they are still kittens. The Platinum Point boy was born without any hair. I never seen that before but was told that his father had a platinum point boy from a previous litter that was also born hairless but not to worry - the hair will grow. I named this little boy Harry. When he was 21 days old, he grew the most beautiful, soft and full coat that I've ever seen on a kitten. The most amazing thing was he grew the coat over a two day period!
The platinum point boy was placed with a repeat pet buyer - Charlotte and Alison. They also have Rex from a previous litter. They named him Tonka but he'll always be Harry to me. The platinum solid girl turned into a beauty. I named her Dusty Rose and I'm going to show and breed her. The Champagne Mink boy is named C.J. O'Riley (I named him after one of my favorite pet buyer). I'm showing him in Premiership and he will be available as a young adult in the fall of 07.
